The Middle

That fateful first get-together of the three of us took place three and a half years ago, the summer of 2008. Ghosts at a beautiful old bed and breakfast, an evening of communing with them, a portal by the stone fireplace, and being "tested" by spirits throughout the day. A lot of chatter about things both mundane and woo-woo alike, and a lot of laughter. The beginnings were there, just waiting for all of the pieces to fall into place.

In the meantime, life intervened. For all of us. In a big way. As it so often does. But that's okay, because life is about the journey, right? A journey without the benefit of online directions or a personal GPS, or so we all too often believe. And so what if the path isn't always paved. Because one thing I've learned is that the most beautiful views are to be seen away from the well-traveled road. All we have to do is forge ahead, and make our own way.

Now, about those personal GPSs . . . what would you say if I told you, we all do in fact have internal guidance systems, whispering to us in our heads as the voice of our conscience, or as thoughts that we pass off as our own. As a dream that we have that leads us to work through something that's troubling us, or from which we awaken with a solution to a problem. Or even, in extreme situations, as a voice or thought that warns us away from impending danger. Some call these things Guides, some call them guardian angels, if they think of it at all.

Over the years I've known Kristy, I had had multiple nudges from my Guides that we were meant to be working together in some way, and she'd had the same sort of nudges. We've done appearances together, given talks together. Besties for life, all of these amounted to fun times, lots of giggling . . . but there was more to the nudges than the few appearances we'd managed to come up with, and we both knew it with that inner knowing. But what? Where? How? No specifics were forthcoming.

{{Insert long suffering sigh}}

Sometimes Guides like to be . . . annoyingly cryptic. Or maybe they just like us to work through our problems ourselves. Yeah, that's probably it. ;>

And then there was Jen, whose talents amaze me every day. I've never had a little sister, but if I had, it would have been Jen. Jen has her own side to this long tale, and I'll let her tell it.

Suffice it to say, we are three of a kind.

The number three appeals to me. Three, a power number. Three Sisters. For me it evoked not so much the "Charmed Ones" of Aaron Spelling fame, but more the very powerful, elemental sisters of Nora Roberts' wonderful Three Sisters Island trilogy. Chosen Sisters. Heart Sisters. For we are that, very much sisters of the heart, and we were each drawn to one another, out of the blue, in completely different ways. Each of us are sensitives and intuitives with varying gifts and strengths, but that is only one side of the story. We are also normal women -- as normal as it gets these days -- with families and professional lives and children and schedules and responsibilities, but we manage to get though most days with our senses of humor not just intact, but very irreverently front and center, and we get through with a playful approach to life. A lightness of being.

Maybe, just maybe, that's part of our majick. I like to think so.

Won't you come and join us? Because even the darkest darkness can be eliminated by shining a little light inside. Join us. Shine your light.

Love to all,

Mad {madly!}

  1. We all have that light to shine, sometimes we need a bit of majick to brighten it.

  2. Or perhaps part of the majick is in remembering that we have the light in the first place. :)

  3. I do appreciate those spiritual nudges, the ones that remind me to notice the magical light in everyday normal life!
